Keep calm and have a cupcake

Kevin successfully underwent radiation to remove 3 melanoma lesions in his brain. While stressful, he made it look like a piece of cake! Now resting comfortably, he’ll lay low for about 48 hours and rest up. (That means no gathering firewood Kevin, and no carrying groceries!).

Kevin will then receive another follow-up MRI and appointment in 2 months. We meet with his oncologist Tuesday to learn whether Kevin has the BRAF gene mutation.

A BIT OF GOOD NEWS

We learned the lesion found earlier this week was one that was MISSED, not one that grew since Friday. This is a HUGE relief! The neurologist explained that he’s very careful to go through every section of the brain before radiating just to be sure lesions like this tiny one aren’t in there.

Sizes

We also got an idea of the measurements: an oval one measuring about 3/4″ x 1/2″, another about 1/2″ x 1/2″, and the tiny one was about 4mm. The fourth possible lesion was too small to zap, and the doc said he’d like to wait and see with that one. Of course, these are gone now, so we’re good!

Please continue to keep him in your prayers! There are positive thoughts going toward Kevin around the globe. 🙂
