Elvis sighting?

This time we werre on the road heading toward Memphis to deliver newly constructed portably walls built by Kevin. We had nothing but drizzle for miles. A quick, but fun trip! This coincidentally coincided with Kevin’s birthday, so we decided to stay at the Peabody Hotel while in town.

We hoped we might see Graceland or the museum where MLK was assassinated. Instead we ended up meeting new friends at the Stax Museum, getting a personal tour there and later getting treated to the SoulFish restaurant from the operations director. By late afternoon we walked down Beale Street during a blues festival and enjoyed a generous helping of blues and BBQ.

Here are some photos from our quick visit to Memphis and the Peabody Hotel. The room was small but beautiful, and it was just around the corner from Beale Street.

Singing the Blues

Those of you who know Kevin well, know he will spontaneously break out singing nonsense if the mood hits him. The band was playing loud and Kevin decided to join in.

Toasting to health for Kevin’s birthday, we drank the best gin martinis I’ve ever had, and met interesting people at the bar at the Peabody Hotel.
